We had a very successful season! This January and February, we are focusing on upgrading our abilities to serve you better. We have invested in a refrigerated delivery vehicle and an easier ordering system for our buying clubs. Hopefully this will make it easier for those of you away from Forks Farm to enjoy Forks Farm fresh food.
We are especially excited of the growth and response of buying club members and Forks Farm Market. We currently have buyers clubs in Merion, Fairmount, Mt.Airy, Devon, Phoenixville, Pottstown, Media, Ridgewood, and Wilkes-Barre. We really appreciate our customers' patience and suggestions as we try to meet increased demand. Originally, we started as grass farmers (circa 1992) serving local families with our products. As we have expanded over the years, we strive to become more efficient in processing orders and distributing our product. We are attempting to balance the three while staying true to our goal of providing you with a local source of fresh, clean, pastured poultry, eggs, beef, lamb, and pork of the highest quality using sustainable farming methods that contribute to the health of our customers, community and environment.
Thank you so much for your feedback and support. Please take a minute to fill out the survey attached to help us improve our service to you. Looking forward to providing you with the best ever food in 2011!

Forks Farm 2010 Survey:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HBFN8SM

Contact
John & Todd Hopkins
Forks Farm
Phone: 570-683-5820
Email: forks@epix.net
www.forksfarmmarket.com

Farmers of the Week, Phoenixville Farmers Market

Producer of the Week

Fork's Farm
Fresh Pasture-Raised Beef

www.forksfarmmarket.com
570.683.5820

What do you do when that excellent barbecue cookbook that dad got last Father's Day calls for 2" thick pasture-raised steaks? Where do you get such thick cuts of fresh, delicious meat? Answer: You get it from Forks Farm.

John and Todd Hopkins, their kids, and the rest of the crew at Forks Farm offer pasture-raised beef, lamb, chickens, and turkeys, plus woodlot pork. The meat can be cut and packaged to your specifications. It's like having a professional butcher on call.

Their chicken and turkey are processed the day before pick-up, for an unrivaled flavor. Their beef comes from "young Angus/Hereford cattle raised entirely on pasture"*. The meat is vacuum sealed and flash frozen to retain its freshness. Woodlot pork tastes better than factory farmed pork because the pigs root and eat the nutrient-rich diet they should, instead of gorging on the cheap grains and scraps thrown in their pens at factory farms. The ham, bacon, and sausage offered by Forks Farm is cured to produce an "old-fashioned flavor"* that factory farms just can't produce.

So whether you need poultry, beef, lamb, or pork, check out Forks Farm to get fresh, pasture-raised meat that is custom cut and packaged to suit your needs. Look at their website or chat with them at the market to arrange for the best-tasting meats for your family and friends.

Upcoming Farm Tour and Potluck!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Mqkj3r_dVX0/TDTxwmb6wbI/AAAAAAAAACY/XopdY1oUzk0/s320/28604_456203048867_362315408867_5959341_5323077_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5491279662925136306" />

come out to see the Farm!

Sunday, July 18th
Farm Tour and Potluck at Forks Farm
3pm to 5pm.
Orangeville, PA/Columbia County
PASA members and friends are invited to Forks Farm for a tour and potluck. vitamin A are all better in grass-fed products because of what grass contains. Grass contains a whole host of macro and micro-nutrients. When an animal eats those components, they’re subsequently present in their foods. It's not possible for grain-fed animals to get all those components. The other big thing is ruminants - cows and sheep - have digestive systems that are set up for foraging, and not for eating grains. When they eat grain they get sick more easily and require antibiotics. The diet can be supplemented, but it's well known that you don't absorb nutrients as well when they're synthetic versus when you get them through food. The American Cancer Society advocates whole foods because of this.

From an interview with Dr. Steve Marks
Eye surgeon, Geisinger Medical Center - Danville, PA

June 12th, 10-3

Our first market of the season!
